💭 It was inspiring to meet colleagues from across the sector and discuss how we can better support young people into work.
📌 Barriers like limited opportunities, health&wellbeing challenges, fewer entry-level roles were explored.
Our new report shows an overnight visitor levy could raise over £350M across London, with £275M generated by the 12 central boroughs. Boroughs are calling for at least 50% of this revenue to be retained locally to fund services, support businesses, strengthen economy.

Today the Government announced plans to give mayors the power to introduce an overnight stay levy.
CLF has been calling for these powers and we welcome the announcement.

We hosted a fantastic partnership meeting with the Operational Leads from all our Connect To Work delivery partners. It was inspiring to see representatives from our Borough delivery areas, sharing insights, best practices, and innovative solutions to challenges.

🧩Last Thursday, we were excited to attend the Hackney Connect to Work Launch at Hackney Town Hall.
It was great to see employers, participants, and local partners come together to celebrate the start of this 5 year programme.

Over the next five years, the programme aims to support around 17,000 residents across Central London. It is delivered by Central London Forward in partnership with local councils and our commercial partner Seetec.
#ConnectToWork is a supported employment programme that helps people with disabilities, health conditions, or complex barriers to find meaningful work and sustain it.
The programme provides flexible, personalised support and works closely with employers to ensure success.

London has highest poverty rate in the country when including housing costs, with 27% of Londoners living in poverty.
Boroughs are at the forefront of tackling this but need funding to continue.
The Government must look again at the Fair Funding Review.

However, their ability to do that is under threat from the Fair Funding Review, which could cut council spending by £700m.
