As far as I've managed to understand, to them happiness isn't the measure of a positive outcome, "living a normal life" is.
This means conformity is the goal, and anything that leads a trans kid growing up to be a (happy) trans adult is to them evidence that trans healthcare must be stopped.

Oh, I dreamt of a horror racing game. It was modern, but styled after early 90s racing games, with laps where the last place gets knocked out. Each lap would change a bit, and you had to take different actions to progress on a branching storyline about ghost-chasing racers.

I imagine it was perfectly competent, just a slog to play by the end, specially coming off of DMC1. If I finished it, I agree it can't have been THAT bad.
omg 2 is why I stopped playing DMC back then. Never picked up 3, despite knowing it's good, because 2 still haunts me. I should give it a chance again.

I'm always sold on Naomi Novik, and Scholomance was extra good. Agreed on all points. Specially the excellent foreshadowing, as my favorite moment was in book 3, when one piece of information started a chain of everything clicking bit by bit into place for me. Urgh so good.

Seriously, it sucked when I changed from a school in Switzerland to one in Germany, and now I kept getting errors marked due to not using ß.
I have a vendetta against it.
Not to mention that parents could use holidays with less responsibilities as well. My parents were nuclear family, but still they needed to ship me and my brother off to my grandparents for a couple of weeks. Not everyone has that luxury either
