#Perimenopause is a family affair.
I knew I couldn't fit doing all the things in today so my family pitched in.
If you need help, ask for it.
Shorter menstrual cycles are one of the first signs that #perimenopause has started. You don't have to skip a period to be in perimenopause.
With shorter cycles, you may see an increase in PMS symptoms intensity. You'll know it when you see it. PMS supercharged.

I'm a panelist talking about self-care in perimenopause at the Women's Health 365 Collective's upcoming (& free!) National Women's Health Week event. @womenshealth365.bsky.social

I'm not mad THAT I'm going through #perimenopause, I'm mad at HOW I'm going through it.
04.05.2025 20:53 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0How's their new textile exhibit? I just saw an ad for that recently. Hope you had a good day doing important work!
30.04.2025 00:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It may seem ridiculous to us now, but one reason historically why women didnβt discuss #menopause openly was because they were told it would make men uncomfortable.
#perimenopause
Going there today!

Is #perimenopause the latest buzz word? My convo with Jess Mujica addresses this:

I'm a paper gal but I use Libby for things I want to check out before buying. I have access through my library too. I think I'm going to be buying more second hand books. I can wait a few extra days for arrival. Like old school lol.
22.03.2025 03:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks, Jenn! Glad you liked it. You frequently come up first in my feed. I like this place!
22.03.2025 03:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ok, so you understand... they are so darn cute! What kind do you use so I can buy stock in it lol. That's a never ending project.
17.03.2025 18:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ahhh, he's cute!
I was feeding a squirrel on my deck (I know I'm crazy!) She would climb up the screen to get my attention. If I didn't come with a nut she would pee on my glass door. I was going to have to hire a squirrel babysitter lol but she stopped coming.
But the inside glass was clean π€£
Happy St. Patrick's Day!! π
#perimenopause Limerick
There once was a woman from Nantucket
Who had a chin hair growing out like a rocket
No amount of wax
Could get it to relax
So finally she just said pluck it.
You go! I just read a horrific story in news about "artistic" animal abuse and couldn't believe it! The artist was trying to raise awareness of animal abuse by doing animal abuse.
15.03.2025 13:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There's a lot to adapt to in #perimenopause.
If you're also trying to make health and wellness changes, my best advice is to go slowly. Too fast, too much, too soon can overwhelm us easily.
There's so much I can tell you about #perimenopause but it's complex and hard to fit it in this limited space. I don't want to change the meaning so much by shortening it that it becomes misinformation. Misinformation, especially for women's health topics, sucks.
I'll keep trying. Any advice?
I agree! So worth it!
10.03.2025 00:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I guess that means popcorn is out too! It's the official snack of Illinois. Maybe a nice deep dish pizza will make up for it. Welcome!
05.03.2025 19:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"Are #perimenopause symptoms real or all in my head?"
Yeah, it's both. Peri affects our reproductive system & our brain. They are "in your head" bc your brain is affected by hormonal fluctuations, but they are real. You're not making up your symptoms!
Follow along for more info from a peri-pro!
Give your elders a break that they didn't warn you about #perimenopause.
Things are different now than they used to be:
- We understand symptoms better
- We have more intense symptoms
- We're younger age at start of symptoms
- We have longer lasting symptoms
- We have more open conversations
You've got what I call the "hungry horrors!" Our body needs more calories before period and we feel it in perimenopause when things are constantly changing.
27.02.2025 00:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Had to split this up into two posts. Did they cut your hair dry or wet?
26.02.2025 20:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You mean you haven't watched countless hours on YouTube watching curl videos π€£. I fallen into the perimenopause trap. All my products that were working perfectly before are not working that great now. If you discover anything new let me know! I found a place near me that does curl cuts. I gotta go!
26.02.2025 20:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The age of women that I work with on their perimenopause issues is getting younger and younger than me. I'm starting to feel like a dinosaur. Anyone else in mid 50s and STILL in #perimenopause?
Gen Xers will get this reference - I'm not just the president I'm also a client.
Alright, Jenn, help me out! Did you find new products? Mine has been so dried out lately and one part by my ear is hanging flat (that's never happened). I love being a curly girl and the flat part is driving me nuts.
26.02.2025 20:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I like that as a visual! That would make a hilarious cartoon.
25.02.2025 02:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's even better than the original! All I've been in the mood for lately are snack accumulations!
24.02.2025 22:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Have you considered making a #perimenopause playlist?
If you're a Gen Xer like me you know the power of a playlist. It can help us process difficult emotions, celebrate those moments when we feel okay, or be the soundtrack to a good mascara down your face crying session.
Let the music guide you.
