Right, I work in mental health. It originally was used when referring to an actual medical condition but people began using it so casually and in such a derogatory way that the medical field had to phase the term out and replace it.

Yep. Every tv meteorologist, weather app, weather website, storm chaser, YouTube weatherman uses models, data, radar, etc. from NOAA and NWS.

I’m going to start calling it the Gulf of North America cos certain people get all worked up when you remind them that Mexico is technically a part of “America” as a whole 🙂‍↔️
