re: PubMed being DOGE'd / censored - don't see any evidence of this. You can't compare e.g EuroPMC searches with PubMed ones directly (saw @franknorman.bsky.social point this out on LinkedIn). By default EuroPMC searches lots of indexes: if you specify PubMed the numbers are much closer

I have no idea if it will help, but I do think shouting from the rooftops about the damage to science and research and cancer care and so on is a good idea. TV/podcast/etc people, I have now heard from quite a few people at NIH and NCI, and I’m around if you’re interested.

White House pauses all federal grants, sparking confusion The Trump administration has put a hold on all federal financial grants and loans, affecting tens of billions of dollars in payments.

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

Um. Now is the time for all the great federal relations folks working for universities to call every staffer & donors call their representatives to ask WTH.
