happened again. finally figured out what the fuck

the events are always like "free, but only available to members of our association" and it makes it sound like a super exclusive industry-only deal, but then i go to the join membership page and the only requirements are like. "donate $70 a year!" or something, and literally nothing else

the convention hall downtown occasionally hosts like, super-specific industry exclusive events and i've always just kinda wondered about showing up at one and loosely wandering around checking out the booths. whole world of hyper niche information out there you can just go to and learn about

as far as Places To Put Art Online At, it does still have that early-internet feel of a website ran by a niche circle of folks who actually have a vested interest in seeing a community thrive. everywhere else feels too corporate/too enshittified (or rapidly approaching that)
