Nicie piece about @cardiffcouncil.bsky.social further restricting advertising in the city. We're really pleased to see progress on this issue after years of campaigning. Plenty left to do, but it's a huge step forwards.

On the downside, the various changes won't really kick in until 2029 when the council's agreement with the corporations managing advertising sites come up for renewal, as they don't want (or aren't able) to retrospectively change the existing contracts.

We 100% would ban junk food ads, Rob - and we'd go further by banning ALL advertising in public spaces. The world's a beautiful place, why do we willingly allow it to be plastered with adverts for things we don't need?
