Imagine a city free from corporate outdoor advertising βπΏπ We've blocked 40 giant digital billboards from Bristol, and counting. Our space not ad space!
These advertising hoardings were erected without any planning permission in Totterdown, degrading the local environment. Really glad to see the company being forced to remove them by @bristolcouncil.bsky.social planning enforcement team. @adblockbristol.bsky.social

If you've got a minute please put in an objection using the link below. Objections really do make a difference!
An Adblock member has started a petition to end junk mail generically addressed to "the occupier" or "the homeowner".
Because they are addressed you can't opt out in the normal way. This kind of junk mail is really irritating and a massive waste of paper.

Fossil fuels are now arguably a more pressing health threat than smoking. So why don't we respond in the same way?
A meme reading "100 people objected to a new digital billboard. Council approved it anyway."
Very frustrating that Bristol Council have approved a new digital billboard, despite massive opposition.
What is the point of a planning system that puts absolutely zero weight on local people's views?
We need change. Agree? Head to actionnetwork.org/letters/bett...
Very sorry to say that this billboard was approved by 5 votes (Labour, Lib Dem, Cons) against 3 Green.
Bristolians deserve better than endless, energy-crunching digital screens pushing more and more stuff.
Too many billboards, not enough trees! βπ³

A crowd of people at a demo holding placards and banners.
Today we held a demo outside City Hall to protest a proposed new digital billboard over St Philips Causeway.
Bristol doesn't want or need more massive billboards!
Let's hope the council hears our voices and blocks this application.
