The common term in soccer is "the run makes the pass." Last night, the runs were lacking, so the horseshoe of death made a return. I've seen this team improve in this area over the past month, but it is the key attacking area to watch as the season enters its climax. #RCTID

However, Portland's other attackers (most notably Kevin Kelsy) simply aren't getting in the right spots to positively impact the game when they get the ball. Mora's receiving ranks 5th, but that's been one of the strengths of his game since coming to Portland. #RCTID

Antony's speed allows for him to be an outlet for long balls. Guerra's movement is excellent for a rookie. Fernandez is one of the smartest players on the pitch whenever he gets on the field. #RCTID

This metric measures how good a player's off-ball movement is and how often they receive the ball in dangerous spots. It doesn't surprise me who comprises Portland's top three. #RCTID

Well, here's the thing, it does throw off the rhythm of a matchday to travel on the same day as a game. Not really an excuse, but certainly a serious contributing factor. #RCTID
