Sadly it does seems so, considering they express a sense of urgency to lower entry thresholds to allow further sectors entertain gig workers. We do also see that there are some gig workers who see themselves as a business - but what happens when tragedy hits, they’ll be left to fend for themselves
It is evident that there is an ongoing race to the bottom - fueled by apparent societal needs to get everything cheaper / faster / without human interaction. Sadly this also results in the more significant challenges on the items you listed - and greater profits for corporate conglomerates
