Don't think you'd like that; i.e. being hated by smart people. They can be just as malicious and vindictive as anybody, except they'd know how to do it more sneakily, and with far more devastating consequences if they so desired.

Now that a boyfriend has been secured, Lôf is still trying to improve his standing in human society, and decided to try becoming a baker! Sadly I don't think he realises how much hair he loses around. Maybe he can market the bread as "high fiber content"! :P

I was talking about how people in the east are killing themselves (and others) because of work pressure and no way to get out, be it due to social norms, cultural indoctrination, lack of resources, or draconian government mandates.

On this day 25 years ago people in Serbia finally revolted against the tyrant. While it is a bit disheartening that nowadays we're dealing with, ideologically, the same sort of scum as before, it's important to learn from these events and keep fighting for a better tomorrow.

Westerners would protest because a) they are allowed, and b) they want a healthy work/life balance — at least the sane ones do.

It varies between countries, but you'd be wrong to think people in Asia enjoy their "work schedule". Most don't have a choice.

It's a facade. The younger Asian generations break down all the time and snap even more regularly. In Japan, suicide due to overwork is one of the biggest social issues, while in China people snap almost daily and go on murderous car rampages as there is no mental healthcare — they just cover it up.

Anyway: You could do both, i.e. have a (boring) job and do artwork on the side. Or, if you fancy learning some basic coding, you «could» work on an indie game, solo or not. Granted, it'd still be hard, but you'd have creative freedom.

Unfortunately, the Industry is rather nepotistic in how people get in. Artists in particular, and especially nowadays with the downwards spiral and all. Alas, many times it don't end being as creative as many think, either. Doesn't mean you should stop trying; just be aware.
