This is especially true when LMM writes Alexander Hamilton like a shonen anime protagonist and not an imperialist politician who fought in a war. To me though, the most egregious part of the show is in the song What Did I Miss, where they just casually name drop Sally Hemmings like it's nothing.

Having the founding fathers be portrayed as people of color with musical styles predominantly created by black people, while either trivializing or outright ignoring the fact that almost all of them owned black folks as slaves, is an extremely insidious concept.

To me, Hamilton is a terrible idea done flawlessly. While I think LMM's lyricism in the rap numbers is extremely weak, everything else about the show is done extremely well from the standpoint of production and writing. The problem is that it's a racist idea and is the most shitlib musical ever

Combine that with the general public's idea that Superman is practically invincible without Kryptonite, and I think a lot of Superman stuff from the era fell to the wayside in the grand scheme of things, especially compared to Marvel introducing the FF, Avengers, X-Men and Spider-Man back to back.

Plus a lot of the really great Superman stuff from later came in when they were willing to be a lot more impactful and potent with him being an alien and having allegorical elements to undocumented immigrants and other oppressed peoples, which most comic publishers wouldn't have touched back then.

I think DC struggled to find stuff to do with Superman during this period because Marvel was starting to boom and had a comparatively dramatic edge compared to DC then. Fantastic Four issues flew off shelves compared to Justice League stuff because they felt like a family as opposed to co-workers.

As someone who works in mental health and has had to do trainings related to different forms of addiction, while someone *could* in theory become addicted to masturbating (due to the fact that anything can be an addiction), it's not a widespread problem in the way right wing Christians thinks it is.
