Europe is seeing high temps close to 40Β°C in what should be the coolest summer month.
This isn't normal and it is a direct effect of the climate crisis.
But there is still time to take climate action. Rainforests cool the planet. You can help keep them standing: www.coolearth.org?form=uk-donate
Weβre in Westminster fighting for rainforest protection.
Weβve met with Members of Parliament, calling for a simple but powerful change: for just 1% of UK climate finance to go directly to Indigenous communities protecting rainforests.

What a difference one year can make π
The women of AMARNO, an Indigenous group in the Amazon, saw the plants and seeds they used for their traditional jewellery were disappearing around them. So, we helped to grow a nursery to revive endangered plants and to protect the future of their craft.
One of the many weird and wonderful creatures that our forest monitors find in the Amazon. This here is a Congompe - a giant snail π
With the help of tablets and GPS devices, the forest monitors can collect data and insights into the rainforest.
Survived the Bristol Half Marathon (2hr40). Then immediately got a kebab and cheesecake because I am an athlete πͺ
Next: 25km Bath to Bristol for @coolearthaction.bsky.social. Please donate so the rainforest wins and I continue to question my life choices ππ

Even when it feels like the odds are against us, Earth is always worth fighting for and protecting. #EarthDay is an important reminder of that and of the power we hold when we stand together. Today and every day, we'll be here to support communities, defend the rainforest, and fight climate change β
How many times we gonna have to pull this meme out? π€
π Meet Lelebo Betuela π
Our dedicated Cash Transfers & Community Governance Coordinator in Papua New Guinea.
Leleboβs vision? A future where strong governance structures, transparent community leadership, and sustainable projects drive lasting positive change for rainforest communities.π
Indigenous peoples protect 30% of the Amazon, helping to lock away 460 million tonnes of COβ each year. Thatβs more than the UK emits annually! ππ
Thank you so much Mori π
Thanks for the kind words Alan π
We've tuned in! π€

The village of Sololo is nestled in the Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea. π³
This region spans 60,000 hectares of rainforest and is home to fewer than 1,000 residents. We work alongside the people of Sololo to help safeguard this precious ecosystem. π
We stand alongside the Indigenous group AIDESEP who have raised vital concerns over oil and gas projects in the Amazon. They've taken their fight to the international stage, demanding justice and an end to oil and gas expansion in the rainforest.

Over the last week, our partners CARE Ashaninka have been organising deliveries to those impacted by recent Amazon floods.
8.5 tonnes of essential supplies, like food, bedding and mosquito nets have been delivered to several communities whose homes, farms, and villages have suffered severe damage.
So glad you got our message and thank you so much for streaming for us! π
We work in the 3 largest rainforests in the world:

Keeping carbon-capturing rainforests intact can provide 23% of climate mitigation urgently needed to cool our planet, which is why we focus our work here!
Here's some snapshots from recent fire-prevention workshops we run alongside our partners in the Amazon π³
The sessions explored fire spread patterns and how cardinal points can improve planning. Plus, we provided PPE and water backpacks to help communities stay prepared & protected from wildfires
We'll never get bored of an aerial view of the rainforest π³ πΈ
"Three Indigenous communities in Peruβs Amazon are no longer engaging in unsustainable or illegal forest activities to make ends meet as they complete one year of a conservation basic income (CBI) pilot project... All 188 adults in these communities receive cash payments of ~$69 every month..."
Weβve been featured by @mongabay.bsky.social! π
Our basic income pilot for Indigenous communities in the Amazon has been highlighted, showing how unconditional cash transfers are empowering communities to protect the rainforest. π³

There may be challenges ahead but we refuse to give up on climate action. β
At Cool Earth, we will continue giving our all to rainforest protection, to Indigenous rights, to protecting our planet and to fighting climate change. π
Perfectly said by @michaelmezz.bsky.social!
The wildfires in LA are yet another stark reminder that no one is immune to the climate crisis. Wealth, borders, or privilege cannot shield us from the escalating impacts of a warming planet.
We must phase out fossil fuels, protect forests and support communities fighting for climate justice.
The Congo Basin in Africa is brimming with diverse plants and animals. It's is a place where nature thrives. π
742 discoveries of species have been made in just 10 years and confirms that the Congo Basin is a hotspot for rich biodiversity.
Whatβs IN for climate action in 2025 π
Weβre saying goodbye to outdated, destructive practices and embracing solutions that protect rainforest and fight climate change.
#climatejustice #climatechange #climateaction
This is the kind of energy we are taking into 2025 π
