On this unusually warm Fall day, I spent some time knocking doors in Chesterfield for Del. Debra Gardner—a former social worker who’s seen firsthand how cuts to SNAP, attacks on affordable healthcare, and rising costs hit our neighbors. SD-15 needs that kind of fighter.

The Commonwealth of Virginia sent a message to DC and across the nation last week: we will stand up to Trump.

This isn’t standing up, @kaine.senate.gov. This is giving in.

I'm all in for Delegate Gardner to be my next state senator. A true leader with decades of public service experience rooted in helping people and a background in fighting for a more affordable Virginia, I know that she will continue to serve Chesterfield and Richmond well.

It pains me to learn that Supervisor Holland passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. We often disagreed on the minutiae of policy and government, even both as Democrats. But we both respected each other’s commitment to public service.

REC's CEO: One data center requires as much power as entire current customer base - Fredericksburg Free Press John Hewa made the comments Tuesday during joint meeting between the Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors and the planning commission.

In REC service territory, one data center could require the same amount of power as their entire current customer base. Operators should invest in renewable energy and pay their fair share for the strain it puts on our communities and environment.

Federal data shows many Virginians are "rent burdened" Anyone who spends more than 30% of their income on rent is "rent-burdened," a category of people that is surprisingly high in Virginia.

We deserve to live happy and prosperous lives. We deserve better than our entire paycheck being gobbled up by rent leaving little left for anything else.

Firefighters respond to another blaze at Chesterfield data center just weeks after previous fire Just weeks after a fire blazed inside a room in a Chesterfield data center, firefighters responded to another blaze at the same location Monday morning.

Rather concerning that Chesterfield Fire has had to respond to two separate incidents at the very same data center in the past 30 days.

And just to clarify, this is the FOURTH incident at that facility in the last year.

Dominion proposes higher utility rates, new rate class for data centers • Virginia Mercury Utility's planned rate hike would add $10.51 per month to residential customers' bills starting in 2027, while a separate fuel rate increase would add an average of $10.92 more per month.

While Dominion Energy’s rate case takes a positive step toward data center accountability, I’m concerned that the case also calls for raising residential rates at a time when working families are already strapped for cash.
