Their ranks are being indicted or threatened with arrest. Blue cities are being specifically targeted by ICE and Federalized National Guard. All of this at the direction of a convicted felon who they couldn't manage to beat in an election. This bar for winning isn't just low it's on the floor.

To contrast your courage and willingness to fight with the cowardice and fecklessness emanating from the likes of @schumer.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social makes it all the more obvious the urgent need for a change in Democratic leadership.

You really have become the Susan Collins of the Democratic Party. Your sternly worded letters/videos and demands for action are every bit as hollow as her Ben and Jerry's variety of concern levels.

Sternly worded video. Can we apply the Susan Collins level of concern meter to you as well?

One step?? At this point he couldn't see his party's ass with a telescope.

I'm old enough to have seen both of the unique structures in this picture being built.

I think I have had my fill of these all too charitable conversations with right-wing assholes. It's an accommodation that only ensures more of the same behavior or worse.

Despite that obvious quality, he was elected and re-elected. Yet you still want to cling to the quaint notion, "this is not who we are".

You really need to retire that expression. As a country, on the whole, It IS who you are.

Given how disastrously wrong you were about Iraq, it’s remarkable that you still feel entitled to weigh in on yet another Middle East conflict without a hint of humility.

How about they don't do this because of January 6th? Democrats are as responsible for normalizing Trump as anyone. Maybe more so.

They are obligated to respect the results of what they deem to be a free and fair election, but they are under no obligation to respect Trump.

This call is starting to look a little premature. The current gap is less than 5 seats.

Projected Minority government. Makes things a little more complicated, especially with a separatist party holding some sway.

These results are below expectations for the Liberals. Could be a long night.

Given the polls have been narrowing a bit in the last few days (I know, not so much in Ontario), it seems a stretch that he loses.

Regardless, if the polls largely hold from here, his days as leader are numbered, whether or not he holds his own riding.

Soft Landing?! I don't specifically blame Powell, given that central bankers everywhere had the same philosophy, but the fact is they overshot the runway. Maintaining interest rates at historic lows, QE, the Fed Put etc. were major contributors to inflation, which was dismissed as "transitory".

That the rest of the world is required to give a crap what these people are thinking on any given is peak irritation. One helpful outcome from all of this is the world moving on from its dependence on the US for economic and national security.

Confirmed 99-0. The US Senate, self-described as β€œthe world’s most deliberative body” is in fact the world’s most ridiculous, elitist country club.

I think that is an entirely reasonable conclusion. Just as his willingness to champion the repeal of the ACA in his first term was an attempt to punish Obama for the WHCD slight.

He is petty, vindictive, and owing to his narcissism largely unconstrained to act on his impulses.

Didn't he single-handedly kill legislation on border security before the last election to help himself out politically?

His policy, if you can call it that, can essentially be distilled down to the dehumanization of immigrants. That's it.

In the name of all that is holy, why do people give Trump credit on the border? And why do Democrats insist on reverting to the fetal position on this issue?

What exactly has Trump accomplished with border security? Wasn't he going to solve the problem last go-around by building a wall and
