In this century Democrats have only managed to win when Republicans have FUBAR'd the place. And while them winning the midterms is far preferable than the alternative, it seems fairly certain that with current leadership it will be a temporary respite.

You are supposedly one of the better Democrats and you don't appear to get it either. And by the way you all accepted the idea of lawless status quo when you went back to BAU with Republicans after they refused to convict on impeachment.

Mr. Secretary, these appeals to conservatives to finally find Jesus is not just disconnected from reality it's irritating. And this is from someone who actually likes you.

How about the Democrats just announce that any takeover over of Greenland either by extortion or military occupation will be immediately reversed by the next Democratic administration.

It might be Mommy/Daddy but I always felt it was as much about Republican voters favoring attitude over aptitude. If some Democrat could come along who has both they would win handily. As it is they only seem to win when the alternative is proving to be a disaster.

Might I make a suggestion to get Schumer's attention. Take away his attention. Unfollow him on Bluesky. Get his number down to immediate family members.

What might be an issue is the indication this provides of an attempt to install a true lackey when Powell is done. And what you hear out of Republican senators who are still by and large going along.

At this point I think the markets are accustomed to the mayhem. Pretty good bet that Powell isn't going to suddenly acquiesce on rates and his term is done soon anyway. I could be wrong but I expect a drop and recovery on the recognition that the status quo still applies.

Their ranks are being indicted or threatened with arrest. Blue cities are being specifically targeted by ICE and Federalized National Guard. All of this at the direction of a convicted felon who they couldn't manage to beat in an election. This bar for winning isn't just low it's on the floor.
