You don't have to be trans to opt-out.

You just have to work on thinking of yourself as a person before as a gendered category.

Make your identity things you are proud of about yourself, not old gendered wounds you still carry from childhood.

People control their actions, but they rarely control their thoughts. We need to punish bad actions and use community support to prevent bad thoughts from becoming bad actions.

If someone comes to you with thoughts of attraction to children, you help them gain control of those thoughts.

I've heard a million terms for this before. "Non-acting" and all sorts of crap. It's all an excuse and a diversion. We can label people attracted to children, but it should only serve to reduce harm, not just displace it onto people who clearly need more support in their personal lives.

We condemn people for their actions, not for anything else.

Pedophilia is not harm on its own, and by treating it as a medical/mental health issue instead of a criminal issue is far more productive for everyone.

Unless actual abuse has occurred, then the abuse should be the focus.

calling Trump a pedophile does nothing but hurt innocent people. Calling Trump an abuser shifts the focus from the presumed, almost assigned attraction, to the documented cases of real life abuse.
