One of the most astonishing - like really astonishing things - @theul.bsky.social in Cambridge. The Moore Bede - prime manuscript of the first English history, given by the King-Elector George I in 1715. Seems to have spent time at the court of Charlemagne. Isnโ€™t that just multiple wow?

Fellow medievalists, esp. charter people, a question out of ignorance: how common was it that single people were 'exchanged' as Heloise and Emeline were in the act below (source: The Cartulary of Blanche Countess of Champagne, ed. T. Evergates, p. 58). Thanks!

Good morning #Academicbluesky. What has been published on the effect on current public debate/life of using terms like 'fascist' and 'communist' to describe political adversaries? Thanks!

I thought it looked possibly quite similar to this, which is the De sex aliis cherubim in CCCC 66 p. 100.

This is desperately sad news. Bjรถrn was one of the kindest and funniest people in our trade, as well as a brilliant scholar. He will be terribly missed - and live on in our fond and grateful memories.
