Remember, it's hard to get people to vote! There's no long line waiting to be certified, no bootleggers for voting. No one except the political parties stands to make money from voters. Voter i.d. is like i.d. for streetsweeping -- there's really no need for it.
Voting should be as easy as possible. If someone wants to make voting harder, they don't want to prevent fraud. They just don't want you to vote.
That being said, our ability to vote doesn't matter if we don't use it.
Protect your right to vote. Use your right to vote.
There are reports of ICE activity on the north side of Chicago happening now.
Please share so people in the area can be aware and take precautions.
If you’re in the area please come by our office at 7016 N Clark St for ICE whistles.
We protect each other. Chinga la migra.
In 8th grade (age 13), I had an American History textbook that was amazing. It had actual opinions, and was sometimes amusing. I was flabbergasted. Wish I could remember the name of it.
Call it an invasion. That's what it is.
What does this mean?--
"The impact could be especially severe for households already struggling with the rising cost of groceries." Higher costs are always harder on those who haven't much money. right?
At least we have the comfort of one rule: If Trump says it, it's a lie. Anything he says is going well is really going badly. Anything he says isn't working, is working pretty well.
The USSR had Pravda. People said you could figure out what was going on by assuming Pravda lied. Is it the same now?
I am not so pessimistic as this -- but if the midterms don't come out right, we definitely need a national strike.
Real men don't spend time in front of the mirror.
Just like hand size, I suppose.
Might be time to bring back war criminal trials that include rich people this time
😆
I'm afraid you'd have to convince them that they won't get voted out, no matter how badly they've screwed up.
Not only does he NOT know, he doesn't CARE. Whether his words tally with reality is not something he ever thinks of.
George W. was the same, but he had decent intentions. Trump doesn't. He has no wish to be a good president, only to be seen as a powerful man. Which he isn't.
"In good faith"???? You know -- you KNOW -- that none of the parties will be acting in good faith! Certainly Trump won't. Certainly Netahyahu won't.
The first wrong decision was to start a war.
The second may have been to obey the president.
Interesting. Gotta look it up.
Because he's an idiot? Or because he doesn't care, as long as it doesn't affect his bottom line?
Asking Trump to be serious and/or reasonable about anything is a waste -- not going to happen.
Maybe they should choose the path of most good for the country. Just a thought.
I've chosen "Admiral," I think. And "Sister," "Dr." etc. I don't use a title; why is that such a hard thing to choose?
Right! If you see a baby headed for trouble, you run to try to help -- even if you think you can't do any good. The US is in real, real trouble. At least vote!
Bull. He's as bad as Trump. Not as stupid, maybe, but just as bad.
Perhaps the first step toward winning seats would be to unseat Donald Trump. Throw him out of the party and go back to being American again!
Kids, I'm trying to build a dam here! If you can't help, at least get off the roof!
Obviously it's them oofoes!
PS-- When I say "We cannot be trusted with guns," I mean the population in general. We did this huge experiment in having essentially no control on guns, and it's not working!
Tempt me not! I always thought I'd like to have a gun. But I know myself, which a lot of these crazy angry people don't. I might accidentally shoot someone or purposely shoot myself. Two bad outcomes.
Damn, I pictured a grenade launcher bigger:
Hmm, I keep meaning to look into that. Was there actually more violence, more injury and death? Or was that just more noticeable and dramatic? Did most people just not drink? Did it depend on wealth or ethnic group or something else?
Yes, that was my former view. And it's true. A gun remains, like a refrigerator, unless destroyed.
But we do regulate, to some extent, even the most basic activities-- driving, for instance. Or, even more basic-- excretion. And, most important--even free speech has a few limits.
And you keep the grenade launcher--where? Under the bed? In the cereal cabinet? There is good reason not to have a fully armed citizenry.
People who saw Prohibition come in said there were far fewer winos asleep in doorways during that time. We still live with regulated drink & drugs.
