- Deatrich Wise

I can confirm the #Commanders have signed TE Chig Okonkwo and S Nick Cross. Should be a couple starters for Washington at positions of need.
The NFL Accelerator Program will come back from hiatus in May, per source. While it was originally focused on improving the standing of diverse coaching and front office candidates, it'll now include non-diverse participants.
First reported by CBS.
Late here: The #Commanders have agreed to terms with DE K'Lavon Chaisson on a 1-year, $12M deal, per source.
Adam Peters made it clear going into this offseason that pass rushers would be a priority and has delivered thus far.
The #Commanders have agreed to terms with DT Tim Settle on a three-year, $24M deal, per source. He made 12 starts for the Texans last year and has primarily been a run defender throughout his career. He joints a DT rotation of Daron Payne, Javon Kinlaw and Johnny New
No comp picks for the #Commanders this year
The #Commanders have agreed to terms with edge rusher Odafe Oweh on a 4-year, $100M deal with $68M guaranteed, per source.
Oweh had 17.5 sacks across the last two seasons with the Chargers and Ravens. Washington's making a big bet on the 27 year old.
The #Commanders have re-signed QB Marcus Mariota to a one-year, $7M deal, per source. Washington's Jayden Daniels insurance is back.
The #Commanders have agreed to terms with CB Amik Robertson on a two-year, $16M deal, per source. Robertson has been a starter with the Raiders and Lions. After moving on from Marshon Lattimore, Washington turns to Robertson.

The #Commanders officially release CB Marshon Lattmore, which saves them $18.5M in cap space.
Peters said the #Commanders will hire a new senior director of player health and performance. Tim McGrath previously held that role but parted ways with the team this offseason.
Peters said he doesn't expect to discuss an extension with DT Daron Payne this offseason. He's under contract with the #Commanders through 2026.
Peters wouldn't comment when asked about the #Commanders' potential interest in 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk
#Commanders GM Adam Peters isn't putting a timeline on an extension for LT Laremy Tunsil, but he reiterated it's a priority to avoid it dragging on.

The Washington Post has covered the local football team for more than 89 years. Unfortunately, and almost unfathomably, I don't know whether that coverage will continue -- or in what form.
It was an honor to play a small role in that coverage, alongside @tashanreed.bsky.social.
Thank you Shalise! ❤️
I've been laid off as part of The Washington Post's job cuts today. This is an incredibly sad day, not just for my colleagues and I, but for journalism as a whole.
While I'm not sure what's next, I know I'll bounce back and continue to elevate.
Yeah, currently just 4 there now
The NFL is now down to just 3 Black head coaches. And Mike McDaniel, who identifies as biracial, and Eric Bieniemy are currently the only offensive coordinators of Black descent in the league.
Despite that, the injury rate on kickoffs was lower than it was with the previous rules.
The NFL kickoff return rate went up from about 32% in 2024 to almost 75% in 2025.
ACL injuries were down about 25% in the NFL this year, a 7-year low. Concussions were "up a bit" according to NFL EVP, player health & safety Jeff Miller.

More on new #Commanders defensive coordinator Daronte Jones:
- First-time NFL DC, but with play-calling experience
- Local guy (shoutout Bishop McNamara)
- DB focus to complement Dan Quinn's expertise in DL

Jones will be a first-time NFL defensive coordinator. He's been with the Vikings since 2022 and most recently served as a DC with LSU in 2021.
Just wanted to take a minute, for no particular reason whatsoever, and celebrate some of the brilliant work that my
