For me though this kind of makes designing OCs a catch-22: in order to create the context necessary to form a connection to a character, I must first be attached enough to them to justify all the hard work that entails, and I'm not, because they're completely devoid of context

I think that context, 'seeing how they act in the world', even if it isnt deliberately sexy, is the big thing that lets people become invested in characters. Even if a character is super hot or has a sexy personality, if you don't have context to get to know them, it's very hard to form a connection

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. It's easy to make an OC and slap big tits on them but no amount of self-indulgent character design can replicate the feeling of lewding a character you already have a connection to

Now how do you invent a connection to a character you just made up? idfk
