The spike started when unit started accepting higher acuity babies than it was accustomed to, staffed for, & equipped for. We know why this happened. Changes began in 2014, we know why. The number of deaths during the spike was the number that should have been expected given acuity, volume. (2/2)

Following contact with Cheshire Police in Summer 2018, a review of case notes was undertaken for both periods when Letby worked at LWH. The process that was followed is outlined below (data relates to both time periods, 2012 and 2015). In order to review any potential suspicious events at LWH a review was undertaken. Ali incidents reported in the incident reporting system that included the name LL were examined. All deaths occurring on the days when LL was on duty were reviewed. The electronic patient record system (Badger system) was searched to identify any note entries made by LL. She had contact with 33 babies on a total of 324 patient days. Each of these days of care was reviewed by a neonatal consultant to identify any unusual or suspicious deterioration in the patient's condition. In addition, all babies who were on the neonatal unit on the days when LL was on duty were identified using the Badger system. Each of these days of care were reviewed by a neonatal consultant to identify unexpected cr unexplained deterioration in clinical condition. There were 257 babies on the unit during those days with 1,308 days of care requiring review [INQ017472]

And there it is - the police determined an event to be suspicious if it Lucy Letby was on duty. Anything bad on any other shift was ignored.

Lucy was the member of staff working the most with the sickest babies.

Research shows that they are quick to judge character and are then extremely confident in their judgement. Yet they are actually just as bad at judging character as anyone else. Like doctors, they are supremely confident in making life and death decisions about other people’s lives.

Judges tend to be very clever but their mind-set is bureaucratic. They follow procedures, routines, they stick to rules. They rely on authority, they dropped science and maths as early as they could, specialised in languages (living and dead).

Absolutely, nobody behaves the way she did unless innocently.

In fact, you will need to convince both. In between, you will also need to convince the medical world. Lawyers ignore statisticians, but they listen to doctors.

I do not have a conspiracy theory. The baby killer in that unit was the NHS. Business as usual, unfortunately. You are the pathetic one.

Thing is, there is no proof there was an active murderer on the unit. Plenty of proof of intentional lies by Brearey and Jayaram.

To lie means to knowingly tell an untruth with intention to deceive. It is very difficult to prove intention to deceive. Of course, if you believe she is a serial killer, it will be easy to find faulty memory and interpret it as lies.

Let’s not forget she’s completely innocent and the unit was a complete disaster. I blame consultants and management. No babies were murdered. Some deaths were avoidable.

Junior doctors looked up how to do stuff with Google while trying to intubate a baby. Where were the consultants? They didn’t like being bothered.
