The fascists have captured almost all the surveillance tools and infrastructure. Going to a protest with devices you don’t control only helps the fascists. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t protest, what I’m pointing out is that there’s very little to gain from the “No Kings” protest.

While I do applaud those who when to protest, one stark reminder I need to leave people who are protesting, the fascists don’t care. They want a reason to surveil and crackdown on dissent. You aren’t stopping them, you are justifying their capture of power.

While I respect protest, I don’t think it will be enough. If anything fascists will accelerate the surveillance state and crackdowns. If you go out there you’re being tracked and surveilled, don’t use things you cannot control while dissenting.
