I just watched a new episode of the amazing world of gumball, it is the first episode of the season. The show literally just said eat the rich.

There’s a lot of the naked gun that didn’t age well, AT ALL. But, the movies were very anti-cop and lampoons how law enforcement goons are just idiots that take themselves too seriously. Regretfully I worked for LE in the past and well, it’s kinda accurate.

I get the rationale and tbh it just makes me angry this even happened. But if ONE person chose to do the right thing more people must be encouraged to do the right thing. Fascist only go back in the hole when there’s more people out there that choose community over fear.

What does that do!? Cops don’t give a fuck and never did, it’ll fizzle out and if something happens to the perps it’s a foot note that’s barely noticed and the cycle starts again.

Bystanders recording a hate crime only emboldens more hate crimes and more bystanders. If you see violence against a marginalized people, do something.

Recording does nothing but embolden more to do the same both perpetuating hate and for the bystander effect. It does nothing. It doesn’t deter anyone because there’s no immediate consequence for it.

All bets are off if someone is in immediate danger. As a people it’s our job to not just document the crime but put a stop to it, IMMEDIATELY. A group of people can stop and fight and detain the perps and is much more effective that recording.

Uhh, what!? The best thing anyone can do is de-escalate and avoid the fight as much as possible. But nonviolent resistance and self defense is virtually meaningless if the other group wants to see you harmed or dead. This nonviolence and pacifist doctrine is what’ll get you killed.

But this is the inherent problem. There’s more people than the attackers. - And they should step in regardless. It’s harder to do real damage if you have more people to deal with. If you’re alone, then fine but if there’s heaps of people it’s a damn shame they didn’t do anything.

Good on the ONE person who came to their defense. Those who are recording on their phones and doing nothing are less than human.
