That job came with about a 40% pay cut. I could have covered the coming additional cost of the ACA, but the safeguards for consumers being ripped out are worse, and will only snowball if left to rot. The long term costs would easily wipe out any short term gains I might have had, it all went badly.

After the 2024 election, I made plans to shutter my consultancy that I had built up over a decade to being successful enough I could save ahead. 2024 was a *very* good year, but deep concerns over what the GOP would do to the ACA and Medicare pushed me to taking a 'safe' W-2 job w/ a health plan.

That which can be destroyed by the truth deserves to be.

Science as practiced in its best form is that if the evidence you are presented with after disagreeing contradicts your opinion, *YOU CHANGE YOUR OPINION*.

Disagree. Criticize. Argue.
