Chipotle going into Mexico kind of reminds me of Domino's going into Brooklyn. Why would anyone pay more for lower quality when there's so many local taquerias?

Just did same experiment on health plans in Florida for my family of 3 as I did yesterday. This time, they’re showing the pricing with the subsidy, even though none has been approved. Too many people must have freaked out when they saw the non-subsidized total!

Since when do we ever get to pick our neighbors? I’ve lived next door to several folks who spoke my language and looked like me but were horrible neighbors, calling the local police for example, if we legally parked in front of their house or put our garbage cans out before 5 pm.

I know that @acquiredfm.bsky.social has a lot of devoted fans. But when I downloaded the Trader Joe’s episode this morning, I found myself losing it with all the side stories. Made it to 38 minutes before switching to something else. But there’s another 2:48 minutes to go.

Interesting. Of course, none of this will matter if they actually succeed in killing off quarterly earnings. Companies may whine about all the work, but they’d be lost without the high an earnings beat produces.

Bought my house in LA 10 years ago and expected the property tax rate to remain pretty steady due to Prop 13. But just looked at the bill from 10 years ago and the current bill and realize that my property taxes have increased nearly 50% during those 10 years. Have others faced similar increases?

Just digging into Elevance Health's earnings from yesterday. This is the company formerly known as Anthem Blue Cross.The company reported $50.1 billion in revenue for the quarter, a 12% increase over the same quarter last year. (1/2)
