Where is Keir Starmer? Where is the leadership?

Fascists marched on our streets yesterday and he hasn’t said a single word.

Instead the Prime Minister spends his time defending the “best pals” of paedophiles.

He is a coward. He should resign.

The turning point that wasn't: the way the world talks about Israel's war has changed. Nothing else has | Nesrine Malik An air of complicity has prompted new rhetoric from UK and EU leaders. But it won’t redeem them – or change history’s course, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

Remarkable how many otherwise humane people still seem unable to acknowledge what is happening here.

Sick of this reductive framing as religious/biblical hate/conflict. It makes it irrational, equal(ly so) & understandable but untouchable by logic or law. It's a modern case of settler colonialism & genocide by a state abusing the memory of the Holocaust & using hi-tech weapons & PR.

Britain is still providing arms to Israel. So it's doing a lot more than "tolerating" this world historic evil. It's continuing to participate in it.

Lammy's retoric was strong, but the announced actions were feeble. If we want to support the people of Gaza then we need to be clear about that.

16 months after the International Court of Justice ruled that Palestinians in Gaza were at ‘plausible risk’ of genocide, the UK government has still not explained why it hasn’t acted on this. 65 parliamentarians are demanding it publishes its current assessment of the risk of genocide.

Gaza is “on brink of catastrophe” as aid runs out and prices soar. Within hours of the ceasefire ending in March, Israel blocked food, fuel, and medicine from entering Gaza. Aid warehouses are now empty. This is collective punishment by any other name. 2 million Palestinians are being starved.
