Went and saw Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, and I feel like I’ve been through the emotional wringer. I’m not a huge Springsteen fan but loved Nebraska the first time I heard it, and could strongly relate to the obsession and cutting off of people when deep into creating something.

I am so glad somebody on lobsters linked to this. It is becoming increasingly easy to dismiss little knowns things as modern fabrications, and it’s good to see contemporary citations being tracked down.

Yes, I flew in just to see you. Nobody else in Seattle, nothing else at the convention, and definitely nothing and nobody anywhere else in my trip. 😀

So, while listening to @hugogirlpodcast.bsky.social I misheard Moon Punch as Moon Cup, and I don’t think Capri-Sun would really go for that as a brand.

Thunderbolts* feels cohesive in a way many big movies don’t quite, it made me care about some characters I didn’t think I would, it was funny at the right moments, and I liked the theme… and all of this is stuff that should make me like it more than I did. It was good, but it just wasn’t great.

Nosferatu was great. Lovely stylised cinematography, and some real nice special effects that feel like old black and white techniques applied to modern film making. Oh, and a vampire that is horrible in a way we rarely see.

Well, The Order wasn’t bad at all. Had a kind of True Detective vibe to it, minus the supernatural, in that there is the singular unsolved murder leading to something more.

Also, Jude Law can do slightly grizzled FBI agent really well.

Time to start the new year with a couple of films. The Order, and Nosferatu.
