We have one of these and I give it to guests with great glee to see if they can figure out how to use it. It's easy once you know, at least for the 90% of cans it works on.

My version of this was reading the slave schedules to find my family's shameful history of owning people. The records are both amazing and frustrating in how little they convey. www.somebits.com/weblog/life/...
Economist has a big article on how we're OK for fireworks this year because everyone already had stock. But next year will be a bust.

26.06.2025 16:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What's particularly frustrating is Goodreads still has a monopoly on book reviews and book space. Amazon invests almost no money in the product but *just enough* to freeze out competitors.
25.06.2025 13:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0People are treating Bluesky like it really matters, the next Twitter. What's nice about Mastodon culture is we're all fine with it being a little more casual.

01.06.2025 14:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Apologies if the suggestion is unwelcome but have you tried Kagi? It's a better Google keyword search. And its AI feature is cautiously useful, I use it sometimes instead of ChatGPT for the kinds of things it's good for. Kagi's not perfect but it is an improvement.
