Like, I’ve missed the feeling of learning about something I’m curious about. I like knowing things. It’s what got me to read so much at the beginning of this year. Heck, even now I’m in the middle of a book about money smarts 😤 💰 📖

I haven’t sat down and learned something new in a class in a while, and now that I’m sitting through 3+ hours of video training I’m both stimulating my knowledge acquisition neurons and fighting off impending shortened-attention-span boredom 😆

I’m not wearing my glasses because I’ve been having a slight continuous headache, and since I’m nearsighted no lenses means I can’t see further than 8 inches away. But I still wanna draw or at least do SOMETHING so I’m basically finger painting sketches on my iPad to avoid straining my arm 😂

When you work on a comic you are also working on toning down the perfectionistic side of yours: you'll learn the hard way that not every panel or page will be perfect (especially in the early chapters) or else you'll never get your story done. Your art evolves just like your story!

I was wondering why I’ve had a slight continuous headache and brain fog the past few days. Apparently that can happen when you shock your circadian rhythm by abruptly changing from sleeping at 2~3am and waking at 11am~noon to sleeping before 1 and waking at 8-8:30am. 🫠

I was up at 8:30 yesterday and then I was out for more than twelve hours before I got home again, but the good news is that I was so tired I went to bed before 1am for the first time in months

Out of the 8-10 apprentices he’s had, he said I’m the last padawan…And that all the others he had were a bunch of Anakin Skywalkers 😭 No pressure.

First day of my apprenticeship was chill, but my mentor apparently has high hopes for me…yet forgot for the second time that we were meeting 🫠 Once we got started though he was very good about explaining things and asking if I had any questions 👍🏽

After deeper reflection, I remembered that I definitely sketched these performers on the street on and off for about an hour, and then did more drawing in the park, a few days ago—and that’s generally an no-no for me with traditional art 🫠 Dammit

I swear I can go months to more than a year drawing without my arm messing up, and then the moment I start marveling at my arm’s stamina the phantom feeling of RSI crops up again 🫠 It MUST be psychosomatic at this point.
