A fun NPC dialogue detail is that as the Liberl News ends up getting impacted by censorship during the latter chapters of the story, you hear from multiple NPCs how they think the recent issues are "bland" or "don't have bite" like they used to.

People in this setting notice what's happening.

Ricky and Anton: these two NPCs pop up across the whole series, apparently. I certainly remember talking to them in Cold Steel.

Yikes, I heard about this before, but apparently the Grancel chapter is really bad for Monster Gelatin and Monster Roe drops, and that seems to hold true of the remake... I just need a few of each to complete my cookbook checklist, though...

I've triggered battles and events in the middle of field dialogue so often than I feel a frequent urge to praise Aidios for the Log screen.

The game's Quartz and Sepith economy is pretty easy to work with up until the final chapter, but here they've introduced a bunch of "3+" level upgrades that can only be acquired with three 3rd-tier copies of a Quartz and five U-Material+. Feels like it'd take some serious grinding to get all of 'em.

The best Superman portrayals are the ones where Superman does indeed seem centered and fully confident in his way of doing things. This also makes the moments where his confidence is shaken more impactful. The DCAU version of him strikes a good balance in that regard.

It's more a matter of how it alters the sense he gives off. I think it's fine to have a more naive, uncertain Superman sometimes, but at some stage he needs to graduate to being completely confident in his morals otherwise there's still the sense he could *fall off.* Three years is a bit much.

Battle starts, S-Break into Joshua's Black Fang, and the entire enemy group is instantly gone. Kinda anticlimactic given the dramatic weight the cutscenes put on the number of enemies, but that's Trails for you. Ludonarrative dissonance is a cheerful dinner buddy.

Oh, Joshua, it's like you don't even remember us nuking a whole swarm of even harder monsters in the farming cave on our way into the region~

Everyone keeps comparing Zin to a bear. I remember that being Terra's first impression of Sabin in Final Fantasy VI, too, and they're both buff monks. Is that expression just a common one in Japan for really muscley dudes?

Phew, I overslept by about four hours because around noon the fire alarm went off for literally no reason and woke me up and made it difficult to get back to sleep. Why does this stuff have to happen on my days off while I still only have one day off at a time between bursts of work? ^^;

It bloody well is when you've spent 15+ years with your brain locked in gamer-critic mode and can't touch anything pop-culture-related without automatically nitpicking every detail about it. :V

Well, I've heard it's very good. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, though.

They called a certain character in this movie Ultraman, although it's not an alternate-universe Superman.

The movie also, if I'm not mistaken, makes a deliberate reference to the COMIC version of "The Boys." Either that or they very coincidentally echoes Black Noir's comic-version twist.
