Yep it stunk of a guy not worried about the consequences, to be honest I think Riley has operated with that approach for the majority of time post Lebron. It isn't the way to build teams anymore, you've got to be smarter than that

It was complex to manage but that was selfmade in part as well. The return was restricted by bad business by Pat leading up to the request. Calling out a volatile star in a media scrum at the end of the season, was dumb and started them on the slippery slope that ended in this trade
