Maybe they weren’t as profitable as they seemed to be but it just seems weird to me in this era of fandoms and collecting being more mainstream, it feels like it would be an easy win
It’s so weird how movie tie in promos and collectible meal toys have died off. I remember people going to McDonald’s specifically when they had beanie baby/disney toys to the point they limited how many happy meals you could order. Restaurants had movie themed meals all the time. Why did they stop??
I was so surprised they had hardcovers! And they were like $6!!!! 😭
Also a little storytime: a couple years ago, I started working part time at my library after being pretty much homebound since Covid hit. Didn't mask for the first few months and I got sick almost every other week. Started masking, immediately stopped getting sick. So, I mean, masks DO HELP!!
Tagging onto this, I live in a relatively conservative area (used to live in Vancetown, USA!) and even then, I've never gotten a rude remark or reaction from anyone while masking. I may get looks occasionally, but mostly people don't care, if that's a worry of yours!
This. Ideally everyone would have continued to mask since 2020. But the second best time is right now. If you don’t mask everywhere, at least do it again for higher-risk situations (i.e. traveling, conventions, doctor appts).
