They want us to exist in self-hating misery. So they will feel better about their stunted, miserable lives.

Nope.

Most novelists don't make what the average CEO keeps in his change jar. The American contempt for arts and artists is revealing and defining..

I adore her but, yeah, I would have let him cook 1st on that "first bullies are mothers" comment, then on the one you quote, an idea I've encountered before. Masculinity (at least the dominant type) is predicated on not being woman-like. Just as whiteness is not being Black.

Gonna listen to rest.

Body-wise, I turned 40 and decided I didn't have that kind of time to waste anymore. Then I turned 50 and REALLY knew.

The Corporate Miscreants Driving the Affordability Crisis These 20 firms all have something in common: Their CEOs get paid millions, their workers are being pushed onto public assistance, and voters are fed up with them.

Brian Niccol of Starbucks took home the award for the most nonsensical disparity between CEO and employee income: He earns $95,801,676, while the median salary for a Starbucks employee was a mere $14,674. trib.al/RMejLDH

Sorry to say most Black Americans have always known better. The Nazis learned from Jim Crow, after all.

I agree. That's why i apologized.

Americans love to take responsibility for the good--"we" defeated the Nazis, say folks not even born.

Responsible for the good, Responsible for the horrific.

I spent all last summer in Europe responding to every "You're American?" with "I am SO SO SORRY I didn't vote for him and hate him with a fiery passion, I'm so sorry."

And I'm a Black woman so they mostly already been knew.

I want to stress the "seen" part.

Strangely difficult for some reason.

My grandmother could not vote. My mother, who is still alive, could not vote the first part of her adult life until she left Mississippi. Democracy for me but not for thee, I guess.

This is correct. American democracy is younger than I am. I, however, still look good.
