i mean yeah but for the few characters i've designed, it was pretty obvious where the inspiration came from

I want to design a character that doesn't clearly feel like a clone or a ripoff

I feel like its more innate creativity and experience than practice really

or maybe its just a skill issue on my part

problem is I like the idea of having a character design I can be proud of and call my own

but I don't like the idea of putting in the work of designing a character

I do art because I find the technical aspects fun, like anatomy, shading, drawing techniques. Especially anatomy

Yeah ig part of it is having a backstory or a world for the character

which makes it even harder for someone like me

sounds a lot like the last time I tried character design lol, except I got nothin after all that lol

I can never fathom how people just design OCs like its nothing. Not even based of any existing species or character, just raw dogging a brand new character design

I want that kind of creativity lol
