I've been liveblogging an IOC election for very nearly three hours now, much of it spent listening to lounge bar music or, more recently, complete silence as a result of "technical difficulties". A̶ ̶b̶e̶w̶i̶l̶d̶e̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶t̶e̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ History in the making.
For some individuals and organisations it is not enough simply to describe the death and suffering Israel has caused and contributed to in Gaza. Instead they feel compelled to redefine the word genocide in whatever ways allow them to pin it on Jews. It is a revolting obsession.
Since leaving full-time education in 1998 the only organisations I've spent any real time working for are Amnesty International and the Guardian, and this demeans them both.
