The Lasting Legacy of Graham Gund
The celebrated architect, who died June 6, reshaped Kenyon’s physical campus through his remarkable designs, support for the arts and generosity.
We are grateful to Graham Gund for crafting an open and inviting library (where our center is located) as well as for his larger vision for #kenyon #kenyoncollege. May his memory be a blessing! www.kenyon.edu/news/archive...

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to deploy National Guard across the state in response to protests
The move comes ahead of a planned protest in San Antonio and follows days of protest in L.A. and across the nation.
Texans are protesting peacefully, and Greg Abbott has the National Guard on standby.
Because nothing scares him more than the people standing up and speaking out.
Let me remind y’all: the right to peaceful protest is in the Constitution.

Talking politics with family and friends? Start with curiosity and respect, says P.E.I. psychologist | CBC News
The federal election is coming up on April 28, and campaigns can stir up lots of opinion and emotions.
"If we don't talk about things and we just avoid them, that's not helpful either…. We're not confronting and challenging the perceptions that we may disagree with."

Today someone asked me, "Oxford comma or no Oxford comma?"
My response has changed over the years, but now it boils down to:
1. I use it in my writing.
2. It should be used if it makes things clearer.
3. Don't be a jerk about it.

Em dashes can be very useful!
From Section 6.6 of the Publication Manual (7th ed.):
"Use an em dash to set off an element added to amplify or digress from the main clause."
But note, "overuse of the em dash weakens the flow of material, so use it judiciously."

The third image offers a list of higher order concerns tutors can help you with including thesis/focus, audience/purpose, structure, and development. It has a sticky note announcing that higher order concerns typically take priority over lower order concerns.
