I think this depends on what point in the dev cycle they targeted. I strongly agree that early playtesting is about validating game feel and design, but late playtesting is almost like QA. The post probably stated the cycle period, but it is deleted and I've forgotten

Unless you intentionally incorporate audio bugs, poor resolution scaling, broken settings, or cameras into your game design (which has been done to good effect!) then it will actively degrade your game. Managing it will actually deliver your intended experience
