Delighted to have launched a new series of cultural events at our residence with a moving and gripping reading by German author and former actor Rudolf von Waldenfels. His powerful book, exploring the journey through illness and hope, touched us all.

I was honored to present Mr. Katsuaki Suzuki with the Bundesverdienstkreuz (order of merit),awarded by the German President. His deep commitment via 🇯🇵-🇩🇪 societies for dialogue, exchange, and friendship — especially in Gunma Prefecture — has greatly enriched German-Japanese relations.Congratulations!

The Japanese-German societies are the engines, that bring life to our Japanese-German friendship at the civil society level. That is why it was an honor for me to host their annual summer get-together at my residence.

洋上風力やCCSなど、気候変動対策における日独の連携は一層深まっています。

千玄室大宗匠ご逝去の報に接し、深く哀悼の意を表します。大宗匠のご逝去により、🇯🇵の文化と「調和と平和」の理念を伝える偉大な大使が失われました。その教えには故ケーラー元大統領やメルケル前首相等、多くのドイツ人が共鳴しました。大使公邸庭園の茶室再建にお力添えくださった大宗匠の思い出と、茶道の心を大切にしてまいります。

My heartfelt condolences for the loss of Master Sen Genshitsu. 🇯🇵 lost a great ambassador for its culture+its message of harmony&peace. He touched many 🇩🇪 hearts, incl late Pres.Köhler+Chancellor Merkel. His support for the residence garden's tea house commits us to honor his memory+the art of Sado.
