I don’t blame some Syrian people for thinking that this is a good thing. And maybe for some individual Syrian people, it WILL be a good thing. But that doesn’t make them experts in geopolitics. Very few people in any country are, even as it pertains to their own country

The entire framing of “freedom” in this conversation is absurd. Freedom from one axis of oppression by way of another grants you very little, if any, actual freedom. People died for a US-backed coup that is Syrian in name only
