Conclave not being nominated for best cinematography. we say it every year but the academy is a joke.

Looking forward to shoot a small funding trailer on the Weekend. Pre-pro is done already. Will probably manage to do a vid about it! :)

Did a video about low budget lighting for Indie-Films yesterday. Maybe you get some value out of it.

Good Luck on your journey! Remember to never give up. Filmmaking has crazy high entry barriers and is extremely hard, but well worth it :)

19.01.2025 09:36 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Whatโs the biggest challenge for you personally when it comes to filmmaking?
I think finding the right locations with zero to no budget is just on top of the list for me.
No one has ever influenced me more to push the Low-Budget-Filmmaking boundaries then @Gawxart has. No excuses to deliver shitty images if that guy can do it in the comfort of his own home.

Conclave might be one of my favourites from 2024. I mean, it is such great cinematography. Didn't particularly liked the clichรฉ ending, but it is just a super entertaining film.

Indie Filmmaking is hard. But I'm always surprised what kind of look you can reach without or minimal lighting setups.
Its all about Location and correct Blocking in relation to the natural light you have available. These stills are from the last film I shot. And we used 0 or a single light.
Was watching in Imax in Berlin and the didnโt balance the volume at all, was as loud as a starting fighter jet. ๐
16.01.2025 07:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Its soo beautiful. But honestly not sure if I can stand these jumpscares again haha.
15.01.2025 22:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Poster of the film the thin red line.
Just finished The Thin Red Line (1998).
Felt a bit weak in comparison. I'm not a big fan of directors attempting to convey what they think are "profound" ideas, but are actually straightforward concepts of good versus evil, especially when the setting alone is sufficient to deliver the message.
Watched it this morning. I love how they just give simple Guidlines to remember in prepro.
15.01.2025 22:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I feel a bit lost as well, but in the end I always love to see what other filmmakers are up to. ideally visually or some thoughts/Tips.
