If news outlets are gonna report that a third of the people ICE kidnapped in LA this past week had criminal records, the least they can do is add the context that 1 in 3 of ALL American adults have a criminal record. It's the number you'd expect if ICE was NOT targeting people with criminal records.

I like this term "Agentic Engineering" so much more, and their definition and approach to using AI in coding. "Vibe Coding" just reminds me way too much of Stack Overflow copy pasta method of "coding"

This is the exact reason why I would defend this pattern. I agree that you should make things easy to understand, but if people are not willing to do the bare minimum investigation they should be re-trained or let go. I never like the idea of "lowering the bar", it just leads to overall bad habits.

I have seen one good use is autocompleting code. It recognizes what I am trying to do, and generates the rest for me. I still need to edit and correct the code, but it does save me time.
AI for first drafts, AND ONLY first drafts, of art, writing, code etc is a good use case in my mind.

In general, I think the mass implementation of AI (spotify, google, etc) has made services absolutely terrible and worse. People think AI is much more powerful than it really is. I equate it to asking a toddler to do something for you... Yes you'll get an answer but not a good or reliable one.
