“so do i. hopefully he can do that, but i don’t want to tell you the things i’ve seen in his thoughts. he’s really set on claimin’ her as his.” he informed her.

“a little darkness can be a good thing.” he said as he scratched his chin, leaning against her.

“i turned him. i can read the boy’s thoughts and they’re not pure, darlin’.” he said as he cleared his throat, sitting down with a sigh.

remmick sighed as he thought before looking back at her. “silas.” he muttered begrudgingly, clenching his jaw.

“remind you of anyone?” remmick teased as he kissed her cheek. “maybe she just needs a little push someone who can show her the perks?”

“well, she’s getting to that age… you know how girls can be.” he said with a little frown. “i worry, too.”

“they gotta fight if they wanna live.” he said as he wrapped an arm around her with a grin.

“the technology wasn’t around. that was the major difference.” he said as they got into the car.

“i know how to do all this, too, ya know.” he reminded her with a grin. he and experience in fatherhood after all.

he came back with a folder and smiled at them. “ready to go?” he asked as he put the folder away.
