I just found this out! So excited because it's never been on Viki for my region.
It's got a Part 2 showing up this year, so while I started it, I decided to hold off until closer to that season's drop date.
I did watch the movie Good News! on Netflix, which is essentially episode 1 of MIK, and that was on my mind then. I think the subject it well w/the drama tho.
...then everyone wanted to open presents 15 minutes before the end!
I'm in the States, and it was an hour late in posting. Ugh. And yes, everyone was bothering me yesterday and today, so it took forever to watch. (And by everyone, I mean our new puppy.)
I loved this one, but I tell you, A jin is going to go down as one of the most misunderstood characters of all time. Even with all the "she's a sociopath" prompts.
I'm not a big historical fan, and I was in serious doubt this bodyswap could be done well, but let's just say I'm absolutely gobsmacked at how the maneuver all the genres so convincingly. And that body swap actually feels real, like they both captured each other's nuances so pitch perfectly.
that's true. The biggest factor is whether the guy is hot and if the FL isn't difficult, and since both of these are present in this drama, it's open season for them. haha (Because "the guy is too old for this role," which I feel is kinda the point, esp. with his clothing choices!😆)
It's really just a nice watch. Nothing earth-shattering or award-winning, but a very solid drama. A great change of pace from the usual kdrama hijinks.
It's funny bc I read mdl about some of the issues people are having, and I can't help think, "guys, I think these issues are on purpose."
#DontCallMeMaam/#NoNextLife gives a middle-aged drama w/o the usual tropes: adultery, terminal illness, childhood connections, love 📐, middle-school behavior. Instead what one gets is a lovely trio of 41 yo college friends who stick up for each other & women, along w/some really great guys.
I'm wondering if even the formatting was intentional. Like 16 episodes, and they even took a break last week to work out the writing. Even having the ML's first break be a flashback with him playing a high schooler?

I'd also say, as a short person with a lower center point of gravity, when someone either doesn't open the door or lets it close prematurely, it can be quite a bit of blowback.
I've said on the other place that this is the best drama currently airing that you're not watching.

The drama takes place in 2018, when the cryptocurrency market was most volatile. I would say that setting was a plot device at best. The main emphasis is the three leads' growth.
