I like: European history and cinema, Japan, mermaids, marine biology, and aquaria. Not necessarily in that order.

Posting a Vox article by midwit Dylan Matthews who doesn't even know there are different otter species, lol

In any case, so what. All animals engage in some form of r@pe, cannibalism, or infanticide. Dogs, cats, etc. Seals do all three and even SA penguins. Orangutans pretty much reproduce by r@pe.

We’re otterly excited to announce that, in the coming weeks, we’ll welcome a brand new resident sea otter to the Aquarium’s raft!

Another problem with the mirror test is that humans have unusually good sight compared to most animals and we rely on it much more than them.

For dogs, the primary senses are smell and hearing, while other species also rely on touch more than sight, which the mirror test doesn't take into account.

Correction, the primary senses for dogs are smell and hearing*, though my general point still stands, and many other species do rely on more on touch than sight to navigate the world.
