Cheer up your timeline, celebrate the weekend and offset any #FridayThe13th misfortune by
1) telling William Hourston's dog what a good boy he is
2) then asking him if he's a good boy
3) then booping his nose
4) then reminding him he's a good boy.

Labour government's comms have been woeful, and they've got a lot of stuff just plain wrong. But also:
🆕 Update on Iran War 🇮🇷
The most informative pairing on all things Iran is back with what is becoming (sadly) a weekly slot. @snellarthur.bsky.social and Charlie Gammell offer actual insight rather than breathless speculation.

Labour are today launching a major national conversion on how the digital ID will work for government services.
Well worth listening to these clips from the statement by Darren Jones in the Commons today - so you better understand what the digital ID is - and IS NOT.

It will be good if BBC interviewers at least know the facts/trends: this kind of denial about falling immigration + falling net migration will be a political theme in May 2026, November 2026 (when net migration drops dramatically, close to zero) + in May-Nov 2027 (net migration negative in 2027)
BBC apologise for the irrelevant reply. But their new reply does not respond to my complaint about whether his claim was inaccurate so needs to be corrected. Just "Mr Farage's point about net migration unfortunately wasn't picked up at the time of recording".
Just says they challenged other things

The much loved Kursaal in Southend-on-Sea, subject to legal agreements, has a new leaseholder. The local council are stating this new deal paves the way to outstanding repairs being undertaken and a new leisure-based use. We placed the building on our Top Ten Endangered Buildings list in 2024.

‘If Trump were purposefully doing Russia’s bidding, it is hard to see what he would be doing differently’. A 48-minute speech worth hearing #Epstein #Russia #Trump
Useful corrective on what labour’s now unfashionable ‘hero voter’ strategy actually meant (ie it was never just banging on about immigration)
So, Johnson, Farage, Badenoch, the Telegraph… howl about the UK being “an irrelevance on the world stage”.
Remind me again who decided to isolate us with a strategically and economically idiotic Brexit, relying on a trade deal with the US to save us from exactly the kind of weakness they now bemoan.
What I would like are governments that are so keen to act in the interests of their people and the global community that they will listen carefully to criticism rather than ridicule or try to suppress it. Yes, I know I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one.
Boris Johnson says Keir Starmer has made us an irrelevance on the world stage...
Brexit broke Britain's economy and ruptured the relationship with our European friends and neighbours
Johnson is a compulsive liar and the worst British PM ever, especially during the pandemic.
He can fxxk off with his Billy Bunter comic book style of journalism.
A very nasty Bullingdon bore.

So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and they’re simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was “your piano is too close to the fireplace, you’ll dry it out” and if that’s not the internet in a nutshell I don’t know what is.
