CBC has “investigated” increased school absences, consulted 2 “experts,” and concluded it’s a mental health issue despite citing data showing sick days are up by 72% for elementary students and 50% for secondary students. I wish the only-vaxers would get as fired up about other ways to prevent infection as they do about the vaccines. Their unshakable belief that they don’t need to do anything more than get the shot to be good and reasonable people is a very big part of the reason the pandemic isn’t over.

The latest wastewater numbers for Ontario show Influenza A levels have spiked dramatically, with Covid levels also high. Not a great sign with the return to school next week. Wearing a good quality mask offers good protection from airborne viruses both for yourself and others. wwater.ca/Ontario

Influenza test positivity is very high in Ontario and remains the highest in children (5-11 yrs) at 73.3% and adolescents (12-19 yrs) at 67.3%. COVID-19 and RSV are also circulating.

I see that the only-vaxers, still feeling confident about how well they stopped Covid in its tracks, are now sharing their wisdom for flu prevention. FFS, quit whining and wear a fucking mask and clean the indoor air. Kids are dying.
I said “let’s clean the air, wear masks and other prevention stuff to protect people from bugs”…
