Here's my bottom line:
Much of what they are doing is bad.
Much of what they are doing is unpopular.
Pushback is working.
We are winning.
Keep fighting.
Be creative.
Push for what you'd want.
Allow for insiders and outsiders.
Realize that change takes time.
Reduce harm in the meantime.
This is called kidnapping and it’s a crime. Abolish ICE
They could strip homeless vets of their basic civil rights like this, or they could place them in housing with the wraparound services they need, maintaining their freedom, dignity, and right to choose. When given the option, this administration always goes in the least humane direction possible.
What she said and also the whole thread.

Yeah I’m liking it SO much better than the crutches I got at the hospital.
Cari of this past Sunday before 7:30 pm totally took having two unbroken feet for granted. Cari of today has only one unbroken foot and is profoundly cranky about it.
Hello, want me to help you write and publish a book? I currently have a limited number of spaces available for a yearlong one-on-one book mentorship program www.summer-brennan.com/store/one-on...
Yup!
Someone over on Instagram saying that genAI is bad for art, but can still be used by artists who have trouble visualising their ideas.
I had to reply.
She heard about it from him in his Oprah days and has been taking it ever since. Fifteen years or more at this point.
“I don’t know, Mom. Just spitballing here, but could the (debatable) infrequency of your colds have something to do with your near-obsessive handwashing and the fact that you don’t get out much? No. It must be the bits of metal a tv doctor told you to swallow.”
Another day, another conversation in which I fail to convince my 82-year-old mother that colloidal silver is 1) toxic and 2) not the reason why she “gets sick less often than other people.”*
Dr. Oz has so much to answer for, that fucking quack.
*she totally still gets sick.
Today I learned here in Portland teachers are being asked to either take 3 furlough days or cut 170 full time teaching positions. My son is in a blended class of 4/5th graders because they didn’t have enough money for another teacher. Fuck off

The apparent shifts and gaps in our investments reflect the fact that under the old form of government, priorities were dictated by the commissioner in charge — meaning our City hasn’t had a consistent vision for addressing our homelessness and housing affordability crises.
Members of the Oregon Education Association met Friday and Saturday for our PAC Convention and 75% of participants voted not to endorse a gubernatorial candidate. We are sending a message to our electeds and candidates: no longer will you be able to do the bare minimum and get our support.
Reminder
Definitely poppy.
It's the final countdown!

I’m so very tired of websites and apps.
That wouldn’t do it. It’s all about the physical object.
I have no explanation for the sudden stab of nostalgia I just felt remembering the tv guide insert in the Sunday paper.
I need someone to run against Senator Taylor.
She hasn't faced a primary in a decade, and you got almost two years to prepare for your campaign. She isn't a formidable candidate.
You can beat her! 🫵
Preschool for All addresses an affordability crisis head on, saving families an average of $18,600 per child.
Soon thousands more families will save money as we prepare to nearly double seat allocations next school year.
Universal tuition-free preschool in Multnomah County is near.
We can't let them.

A nearly blind Rohingya refugee who spoke no English was abandoned by Border Patrol, and his family was never notified of his release.
He is now dead.
Border Patrol agents dropped him off at a doughnut shop last Thursday and left him to find his way home, which was 5 miles away.
