It’s back! #mocktheweek
My biography "Bigamy Killed the Radio Star" as modelled by Ahir Shah on last night's Mock the Week.

I don't know which is more astonishing; that I missed this news for a month or that my scream of joyous relief didn't reach a point that anyone called 911.

But who cares. I've already LMFAO through a glorious 45 minutes of ecstasy & I have 4 more to go.
People need to realize; this isn't hyperbole. Even for the 'able-bodied', it CAN happen. And you do NOT get to decide your own breaking point.
But for those of us in the spoonies camp, the watchword is constant vigilance! Especially if your support circle is small and managing their own challenges.
As a chronic over-worker who often feels they need to push beyond their own limits to “keep up”, I can assure you that it is path that leads to ruin.
You will make better _______ if you slow down and give yourself time to rest.
Work smarter not harder.
Thank you all for telling me that existed. I avoid the award show hype just so I don't learn about crap like his winning. But was worth it to discover what Wanda did with her time - and her lapel.
It’s so funny that this guy’s entire thing is “Oh are you triggered by what I have to say about marginalized people” but he loses it when someone more well-liked than he will ever be talks about an actual injustice
Would be fun to win a chance to raid the @colbertlateshow.bsky.social closet, but request phys. accommodations that would legitimately be necessary for me to walk out w/anything good; triple the time and 2 helpers.
Anyone w/actual money wanna pay to see that? : 😭

Fortunately for me, I've always held one exception to my opposition to capital punishment - i.e. people too dangerous to risk they might con, bribe or bust out of prison, and whom would almost definitely destroy more lives after. Bundy escaped 2x and upped body count.
I wager Epstein qualified.
My opposition to the death penalty has been challenged a lot lately.
I don't care how kooky or heterogeneous they are to the film, Buckaroo Bonsai's end credits are still the coolest shit in history. If I had walk-on music ...
And discovering stuff like, you can even watch them w/o being distracted by the credits themselves, keeps me sane.

Yes, indoctrination can most definitely have an affect.
Which is another reason why the ripple effects of mandated, scientifically accurate and comprehensive sexual education in every K-12 public school, would be so astonishing.

Jeez guys, if you'd have just kept your mouth shut and taken the residual praise you might have made a mad jump in bookings - instead your cowardice will almost definitely cost you in the long run.
Yeah, there are already a few red flags for being a closeted perv with any puritanical ultra-con feigning moral superiority. But Johnson's willingness to not only police his children's sexual choices, but to talk about it publicly, THAT is a flag the size of Egon's Twinkie.

➡️“On behalf of a grateful Congress, this plaque honors the extraordinary individuals who bravely protected and defended this symbol of democracy on January 6, 2021. Their heroism will never be forgotten.”
➡️Years ago, Congress decreed that this plaque be displayed in the U.S. Capitol. Trump refuses.
Rarely have a pair of quotation marks done quite so much work.
Ooh, and it also occurs to me...
Maggie and Hurley would be a hella adorable couple!
And would allow for some very fun call backs to Maggie's intro episode, with Eliot now the "Maggie's ex" of this new awkward 'love triangle'. Or quadrangle. :)
Somebody needs to pickup #LeverageRedemption!
Though I will admit, that this article made me realize one thing about the scene. My lightbulb moment came from an idea for a perm Eliot love interest, because of the Nate-style enraged tenderness in the dialog. But with only a few tweaks, Maggie could also accomplish the job VERY effectively. 3/3
... and frankly, I impressed myself. Because not only is the dialog of the core scene such a perfect reflection of what the show is about, and what the team is about, that I'd have bet good money that it would have satisfied EVERYONE (even if begrudgingly) - it also demanded Hurley's presence. 2/3
I had to endure a LOT in 2025, and I am astonished I got through it with my sanity in tact. But I did. It is. Even my hope, begrudgingly endures...

Never mind... 🥺
Though, for the record... They are wrong about Eliot. I wrote his redemption nearly a year ago... 1/3
The German business elite thought they could control Hitler. Sound familiar?
The business, political, and legal worlds knew Trump was a monster decades ago—and let him become powerful anyway.
When he was told repeatedly that the Central Park Five were innocent, he still publicly said he wanted them murdered. Why? So he wouldn't have to admit being wrong.
I don't know how else to say this: every biographer of Donald Trump understands that he doesn't care about human suffering.
Not one iota.
Not in the United States, not anywhere else.
Not among children, not among animals.
He is, *journalistically speaking*, an actual monster.
I saw this on another site..Not my words, but those of a Canadian.
Asking as a Canadian: is Congress an actual governing body or just a very expensive group chat for people who refuse to stop the president?

„What you may have missed is that half a million tech workers have been laid off in the years since ChatGPT was released; the same attacks on marginalized workers and DEI and ‘woke‘ that the tech robber barons launched against the rest of society were aimed at their own companies first.“ 1/
I'm watching Tomorrow War with Chris Pratt, and I had forgotten that Charlie jokes that J. K. Simmons looks like "conspiracy Santa."
But 4YRs later, with Chris Evans, he kinda does play "conspiracy Santa". 🤯
so, to understand this story there are a few things you need to know
- my cat, Gus, believes he is a trained support animal
- he is not (he has relatives who are, but he is not)
- he believes he is a seizure-detecting dog
- he is not a dog
- I do not get seizures
Come on, it would be incredibly cruel... to tempt anyone to watch more than 12 hours of that.
