Ugh thanks! Glad it’s not just me.
Has anyone had recent contact or updates from NIH LRP program? I haven’t had payments or even received emails in quite some time.
It was cool to kinda meet you at the straggler dinner!
I also decided to lean into my style and dyed my hair orange (my daughter’s inspiration).
This year, I have grown my lab and found my groove in terms of mentoring. I’m so proud of what I (and we) have accomplished so far and will continue to do.
I need to use this platform more often. Alas, I’m here. I’ve been soaking up all the fun fall moments in this final year before going up for tenure.
I’m training a PhD student who is so great to work with. I get random messages about how excited they are to see my publications using intersectionality. 🥲
A new NBER working paper by @jscottclayton.bsky.social and colleagues shows that about two-thirds of the unexplained gap in post-college earnings by family income may be due to challenges in finding that first job. Family connections and resources matter.

Does anyone here know about the Aging with Pride study and if they’re still collecting data and/or granting access to their data?
I’m especially passionate about mentoring my students and providing them with ample opportunities to publish, connect with scholars, and to gain new skills. ☺️
Our program has competitive offers and includes summer pay. Students gain rich and diverse experiences with researchers across the department. We are a very collegial department (and truly, college, university, and local area). Happy to chat more with anyone who is interested! Please circulate!
My research also explores social stratification and health, examining within-group heterogeneity. We have lots of opportunities for networking, collaboration, and gaining quantitative skills. Located in beautiful Newark, DE, we are super close to major cities (Philly!) and more rural areas.
I wanna signal boost this - I am looking to recruit a prospective PhD student to join my Stress and Health Equity lab at the University of Delaware in HDFS. My research concerns biopsychosocial mechanisms of health across the life course with an emphasis on stress and coping.
Oh wow! My mom tried making me hang out with kids who had chickenpox and I never developed it. I still think it’s so interesting, because me, my sister, and my mom have never had chickenpox.

How’s everyone doing? I am tending to some areas that I had to get stitches on and also searching for my chemical romance tickets that are less than $200. I’m also still so happy from seeing my favs The Dollyrots on Friday with my kiddo!
Twyla wants you to have a great Friday. She says you can do this!
And because I can only (1) never post at all or (2) post multiple times consecutively…look at this sticker I got for my car at a punk rock flea market. I couldn’t not get it.
Kids are great. Even when they assume that movies were only in black and white when you were a kid.
From the administration that erased trans people from Stonewall's history:
I grew up hearing relatives describe feeling brushed off in clinics and spoken to like their concerns were a nuisance. Those stories pushed me toward a PhD in Population Health Sciences and my 1st project on discrimination in healthcare. @journalgim.bsky.social
