"With the Nationals now openly campaigning against net zero, Labor can frame even modest measures as bold, lowering the bar for climate ambition even further."

It's 2025, we've passed 1.5C of warming and fossil fuel companies are running incursions into Australian primary schools to teach the kids how to dig up coal in the sandpit.

And the school THANKS THEM.

When does the next bus come? GoTriangle reduces wait time on its busiest routes The regional agency joins GoDurham and GoRaleigh in offering bus service at 15-minute intervals between Durham and Chapel Hill.

Raleigh increased bus service from every 30 min to every 15 min on its route serving Glenwood Ave. Ridership then doubled in the year that followed.

Over last year, city’s high-frequency routes have had 89% ridership growth.

People will ride when you give them service that they can rely on!

Analysis: The US government has declared war on the very idea of climate change | CNN Politics Americans are used to whiplash in their climate policy. The US has been in and out and in and out again of the key Paris climate agreement over the past four presidencies.

β€œIn his second administration, President Donald Trump is not just approaching climate science with skepticism. Instead, his administration is moving to destroy the methods by which his or any future administration can respond to climate change.β€œ

Everything we've made will break, buildings and streets will crumble, and cities will be abandoned. But the COβ‚‚ we emit into the atmosphere will persist for centuries, and the climatic impacts will last longer than human civilization has existed. This is our legacy for the future.

At least 3 killed and others injured in train derailment in southern Germany A regional passenger train has derailed in southern Germany, killing at least three people and seriously injuring others.

One reason a German train accident is international news and German car accidents are not is that roughly 1000x more people die in car accidents each year in Germany. It’s so common that it’s not newsworthy.

A note for advocates: Despite the frequency of transit funding crises, they are not inevitable or β€œnatural.” Starving transit is a political choice, and we must name and shame the elected officials who are allowing it to happen.

There is a way out of the transit fiscal cliff! States & cities must commit the funds to supporting their transit systems, and preventing them from cutting serviceβ€”or the result will be less ridership, more pollution, more traffic.

Portland’s TriMet transit service is going to have to make major service cutsβ€”18% on its light rail lines & 8% on busesβ€”by 2027 because the state legislature has failed to fill its funding gap.

It’s a story repeating all over the country right now as transit agencies are hitting the fiscal cliff.

Here is the typical relationship between a Walmart (far right) and its nearest bus stop (far left).

It's not just that this car would crush another human being easily, it's also an issue that when parked this behemoth will obscure visibility for pedestrians and other drivers. It's dangerous even when parked!

We should make our society far more accessible and prioritize disability justice. Everyone deserves ease and to be able to flourish. We could make life a lot easier for lots of people so let's do it.

Plus, if you aren't disabled yet, that could change today.

Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.
