Remember: Stress you’re a repeat caller on this issue and that you heard about this controversy on the news. With Visa, ask for a supervisor once you hit a dead end. Calls should always last longer than 30 seconds

I also really want to stress again, itch is "complying" in the softest way they possibly can. Gumroad killed it in 24hrs without even sending an email or making a post. They snapped EVERYTHING in a second. Most content is still available, just delisted from search, but not direct links.

In summary:

- This call campaign needs to last at least a month
- As many calls as possible, so bring your friends
- Make sure each call lasts as long as possible
- Each time you make a call, mention it's not the first time you've called about this

So, obviously the whole Itchio / Visa / Mastercard thing is very bad, and I see a lot of calling campaigns kicking off, so I tried to put together a list of things that can move the needle at a call center. Do with this info what you will.

itchio putting out a list of prohibited material is unrelated to the impact our calls have. that's the list they were always going to have to put up. keep calling until the processors are made to give up enforcement of that list. do not stop calling.

Yeah, I worked in customer support and, if it's a 'peak' of one day, they will not care. They'll wipe their hands and say "ok, volumes are back to normal, it's fixed"
If after a week they are still receiving pressure... Then they'll begin to get nervous

Here’s a short script:
“Hello, my name is _____, and I would like to file a complaint. I find it troubling that Mastercard is blocking content on (the platforms you use) and making it difficult for me to make legal purchases. I am going to stop using Mastercard if this isn’t rescinded and fixed."

You’re going to want to try and get to either a manager or anyone who is willing to take the message. All we need to do is make their lives annoying and this will work.
